The 31 readings consist of a quotation, a Scripture reading, the meditation itself, and a closing prayer. The author suggests including a space after each lesson for the reader to add her own reflections and prayer, but I don t believe this is necessary. Hopson s style is conversational, humorous, and appealing. Dr. Cynthia Bond Hopson is a freelance writer and associate professor of journalism at the University of Memphis. She has written thought-provoking and inspirational columns, feature articles, and speeches. Her first book, Wiggle Tales, was a self-published collection of her columns from the Brownsville States-Graphic. She has been nominated for teaching excellence and has twice been named to the Who s Who Among American Teachers. She founded Touched by Grace Professional Communications Ministry in 2002 as an outlet for her consulting, public speaking, speechwriting, and vocal talents. The author is African American, and this proposal has been reviewed by and received endorsement from the African American Initiative Group.
